Control music with Spotify

Skip, pause, play, and adjust the volume for Spotify playlists - right from Focals and even when your display is off.

If you’re a Spotify premium user, you can use Loop and Focals to control music playing from a Spotify connected device.

Note

If you don’t have a premium account, you’ll see what’s currently playing (but won’t have access to the music controls on Focals).


Log in to Spotify

Before you can use music controls on Focals, you'll need to connect your Spotify account through the Focals app:

  1. Select menuIcon.png > Abilities.
  2. Tap the Spotify slider and log in to your Spotify account.

Control music 

You can skip songs and pause/resume from either your Now view or while your display is off (using Loop). Here’s how:

From your Now view

  1. Start playing music from a Spotify connected device.
  2. Click to see what’s currently playing from your Now view.

    Back for More by Glassio is currently playing.
  3. Click the Spotify player to see music controls.
  4. Move right or left to skip songs.
  5. Move up to pause or play.
  6. Move down to adjust the volume.

While your display is off

Use Loop to quickly skip or pause/resume songs - even when you’re not actively using Focals.

  1. Start playing music from a Spotify connected device.
  2. Move right or left to skip songs.
  3. Move up to pause or resume.

Tip

To adjust the volume, you’ll need use the full music controls from your Now view.
